Listening to Jeff Van Dyck's amazing score for this game right now. One of my favorites of all time.

Really though this game is a serious contender for my GOAT, especially when you include mods. This game was and remains a masterpiece that I still go back to every so often, and Third Age and Stainless Steel make it even better and are some of the finest examples of mods I can think of for any game, ever.

I love playing as Spain and using light cavalry and skirmishers to harass my enemies as the music rises to a crescendo, or defend a castle from a force that vastly outnumbers us forcing me to pull out all the stops to survive, or raining a storm of arrows down upon my enemy as Englamd. There's no game like it for sheer exhilaration, getting my blood up as I engage in a ferocious battle with the enemy.
