Indie rock might have hit a small lull in the early 2000s, but Bleed American proved that there were still new bands performing great stuff. Sure, Jimmy Eat World might have loaded all their best songs onto this release, but almost all of the songs are thrilling classics. The only real debate is over which single is the best--"Bleed American," "Sweetness," or "If You Don't, Don't"? The band also scores points for that quirky album cover. Trophies on a cigarette machine? Priceless.
