It's not a terrible Studio Ghibli film, but it also wasn't the greatest. It's all about a high school boy's memories about a tomboy girl who acts like a primadonna. And then there's a lot of slapping near the end of his high school memories. Ocean Waves is a nice, short slice-of-life drama about real life high school romance, but the ending falls flat without any real resolution.
