This show doesn't seem to get a lot of attention from anime fans. The plot is somewhat convoluted and may require a second watch in order to fully grasp. But the experience is strikingly emotional and shares some themes with the excellent #Neon Genesis Evangelion. The final episodes are quite climactic and epic. One of the best things about it is the soundtrack--it's phenomenal. The series has a bit of fanservice, but thankfully it mostly focuses on telling the story.
