If TV On The Radio's second album was seared with shoegaze-styled guitars and ambient electronics, then Dear Science shifted them into hard-hitting punk ballads and funk. The mix might not be perfect, but it still showed just how far TV would push themselves to perform the beautifully dark, intense alternative rock. "DLZ" especially gained a following after a particular Breaking Bad episode.
