Very few people might remember that La Pucelle was the predecessor to the famous Disgaea series. I love how this game established a lot of the ideas for Disgaea, from the beautiful hand-drawn backgrounds to the combo attack systems. The cute story also has a innocent, cheerful tone right from the start. I really wish that I played La Pucelle sooner. It has such an appealing way of gently introducing a lot of the hardcore ideas in Nippon-Ichi's games.
