If anything, Type-0 showed us how far Square-Enix would push Final Fantasy away from its turn-based roots. It's still got Final Fantasy magic and attack names and the game is impeccably designed. However, Type-0 also has lots of gory war violence, shooter-style dodging mechanics and a complex military-style story that might take some time to adjust to. I enjoyed this more than Final Fantasy 13. Then again, anything is probably better than that convoluted junk of a game.
