Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai weaved a twisted story about horrific murders in a rural Japanese town. Each of the children in Hinamizawa suffered a terrible past and only one of them knows the true reason why so many people die. The show is based around a visual novel series and each story arc covers a different game with meticulous dramatic intensity. This show never received the attention that it deserved, because Geneon could only release only the first few volumes before the Western distribution branch closed operations.
