I really hated 2012. The music sucked. With that said, Kanye West somehow pulled off the third most exciting release of the year--his G.O.O.D. Music Cruel Summer mega project. His band of merry(?) men somehow cranked out three great rap singles--"Clique," "Mercy" and "New God Flow." Kanye also executed his most ludicrously entertaining rap lyrics to dance hall beats. Sure, it's dumb, but it really was one of the only fun highlights for 2012 music.

Editing … I dont know if it's your style but one of my all time fav albums came out in 2012. Worship by A Place to Bury Strangers. Anathema also released Weathered Systems which is amazing from start to finish

Editing … A Place to Bury Strangers sounds great. Yeah, I always have a tough time finding new bands. This decade (2010s) literally seems to be about all the good indie bands that people ignored 10 years. I didn't think that L.A. radio would ever play The Black Keys (took six albums, man), Spoon, Sleater-Kinney or The Kills, but now they're popping up and getting airtime. If I'm lucky, maybe someone will play that opener at the Killers concert a long time ago. Y'know, just to humor me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAvOKDCxX6M
