Editing … I played it on the DS. In every GTA game you should destroy cop cars to lose stars like in Chinatown Wars. It's way more fun than looking for a hide spot and waiting to see if luck is on your side or not. That's barely even gameplay.

Editing … Personally, it's got my favorite hand-to-hand combat in a video game. Have either of you played the Definitive Edition? I quit that version pretty early on due to some controls changes they made (and the PC optimization wasn't that great, whereas the first game had examplary performance, making me think that one was probably PC-first)

Editing … On PC, if you double-tapped W then you'd enter a sprint. In most games that could be very awkward, but with Sleeping Dogs' free-running it worked wonderfully. When I started up the intro chase sequence in the Definitive Edition, running at like 45 FPS, and I double-tapped W and was still walking, I knew... I knew it wasn't for me!

Editing … I strongly prefer kb/m Eggy. The controllers I do use on PC are the rather odd ones though, as I tend to like my customized controls to be extremely ergonomic, moreso than the ones the developer came up with (wew for key rebinding and Steam Controllers and shit). Part of why I want that Razer Hydra, it just looks so.... ergonomic, in terms of what I'll be able to do with it.

Editing … For my favorite combat, I'd say Sleeping Dos is best for hand-to-hand, The Witcher 3 is probably the best for swords. Cheating, right, by separating just based on the weapons? I know, but I really wanted to mention both, because they stand out the best for me based on their melee systems. I'm not sure if I can think up any strong competition to those two, for me.

Editing … You know what games tend to have the best gunplay? The ones that aren't focused solely on the guns. Plenty of military shooters have seventeen kinds of shotgun, but games like Crysis and FEAR offer far more satisfying shoot-outs, and that's because you get to utilize features like leaning, special combat abilities and suit modes, and sick melee moves like FEAR's jump kick. Alan Wake's combat is heavily complemented by the flashlight, and the game's actually rather known for being "too hard," which I believe is because people were too used to more generic TPS' to rely on their flashlight as much as they needed. With that flashlight, you can get through some entire chapters without firing a shot. I prefer the shooting in these games over Battlefield or Call of Duty.

Editing … The pace of Crysis and FEAR combat is what makes them sick. I have yet to play any Tomb Raider. Might skip the originals, they look very dated, so I'm unsure how much I'd get out of them. Just looks clunky. Have you played it?

Editing … It has tank controls and operates in a square-based grid. It makes calculating jumps easy, as you just judge how many squares you need to cross, and base your jumps off of that. So it will definitely feel clunky. But I still love them :) It was a time before analogue after all. We only had four directions of movement :p

Editing … Resident Evil is a fucking awesome game and it has tank controls, so I don't think that'll bother me. The grid-based info makes me feel comfortable. And hey, if I decide it feels better with a keyboard (though if it doesn't have free camera control then it probably won't), then I'll have digital input anyway.
