If you want to re-experience Disney's story of Beauty and the Beast, you'd be best off rewatching the #1991 animation, as 2017's live-action piece offers no worthwhile additions. Each new plot point was only as a detriment to the film, and the returning classic songs have been renditioned with the aid of heavily artefacted autotune, obviously tarnishing the soundtrack. I'm honestly a bit baffled that they didn't recast Emma Watson after it didn't work out, or hire an acting and vocal coach, as she's unable to properly emote throughout the entire film, and couldn't sing if it meant her life.
The Beast himself was not very beastly, as Disney probably didn't have enough faith in the audience to relate to anything unattractive. For a film in which we're supposed to learn to look on the inside and not without, everyone seems to aesthetically match their personality perfectly.
Honestly, you can experience an incredibly similar, and much more romantic and well-executed story with the same themes in the original #Shrek.
