A great remake of the SMS original which stays true to the feel of the classics (even going so far as to having been developed for slightly modified System 16 hardware) while keeping things fresh with some new mechanics, quirky bosses and multiple endings. Basically one more happy pill in game form (with some interesting side-effects), it should've been an obvious choice for a VC or Steam release. This is the way you do modern retro.
