Here's a cool, episodic movie about the daughter of Katsushika Hokusai, the famous artist who painted The Great Wave Off Kanagawa. The autobiographical movie is based on a manga series, so the narrative plays out more like a collection of short stories. However, the artistic imagery in this particular film looks magnificent. It's a shame that this masterpiece passed under the radar of many critics last year.
