Beck's "Sea Change" album changed his sound, for better or worse. It was like a snapshot of him in his most depressed state after a failed marriage. Sea Change also demonstrated just how greatly Bob Dylan had influenced his sound. It's the new style of folk music at its best. It might not sound as poignant as John Denver in the old days, but it still carries the same emotional impact. And those string arrangements sound oh-so beautiful.
