They wouldn't be really smart if they weren't smarter than most people and therefore have difficulty communicating with and relating to others. I remember when I got a bunch of friends in high school I made myself stupider in an attempt to get along with them. It didn't work because I hadn't been stupid for long enough and it made me feel awkward. But now I consider becoming stupid one of the upsides of my high school part of life. I greatly prefer it. Being smart is only good if you're gonna go out there and, you know, DO something with it. Otherwise you're just a weirdo.
