Saved!Not ImportantEditing … The books are all gloom and doom after the fourth one. First two are nice and magical, third and fourth have some of that and some seriousness, but after that it just took a nose dive. But that might be just me.
Saved!Dr EggnogEditing … For me the movies go 2 > 1 > 6 > 5 > 3 > 7-1 > 4 (did not watch 7-2) and the books go 5 > 3 > 4 > 1 > 2 > 6 > 7. I had serious doom and gloom problems with the fourth movie but not the others. I dislike movies 3, 7-1, and 4 and book 7. The rest I like. The first two movies are two of my favorite movies and the first five books are five of my favorite books. I also loved the Chamber of Secrets ps2 game.
Saved!Rich .Editing … I'd say the books go 4>7>5>6>3>2>1 and the films (which are good but not in same leagues as the books) go 3>5>6>4>2>1>7 part 2>7 part 1. I never had an issue with the books being too dark, they seemed to grow up at about the same rate I did over the years it took for the books to come out and they always had a balance with there still being cheer and magic in the world.
Saved!Filly VanilliEditing … Yeah, I think there just wasn't enough time in the movies to reasonably get everything from the books, so a lot of the lighter parts probably got cut (though, Rob did say that between the two DH movies there wasn't really anything from the books that didn't make it in).
