So with the release less than a week away, and some people already having them in their possession, who's getting a #NES Classic Mini Edition or #Famicom Classic Mini?

    Some useful information:

    - The EU and NA editions are identical and both run the NA versions of the games at 60Hz.
    - I suppose this means that non-(native)-English speakers might miss out on their localization, maybe?
    - The NES Mini casing is a lot bigger than it needed to be. Just like the original NES and its cartridges being unnecessarily bulky to cater to the west, history is repeating itself.
    - The NES Mini has Wiimote controller ports on it and will thus support Wii classic controllers. Likewise, the NES controller that comes with it can be used with a Wii. Hmmm... to unseal my limited edition Xenoblade box with a red Classic Controller Pro or not to unseal it?
    - The Famicom Mini is true to the original hardware, so it comes with 2 controllers attached to the system and mounted on the case.
    - The problem with that is that Famicom Mini is even smaller than the NES Mini, so the controllers are CRAZY TINY!
    - Out of the 30 games on each system, 8 are exclusive to the Famicom Mini, and 8 are exclusive to the NES Mini. The Famicom Mini comes with Final Fantasy III and River City Ransom, so that makes it the superior system.
    - The systems can be powered off USB, so you could theoretically run it off your Xbox One while also piping its HDMI through the system as well. If you wanna get really crazy you could even install the circuit board into the system itself and have an NES Mini permanently running through your Xbox One. Hey, you know someone's gonna do it.

I currently have the NES Mini on reservation along with a controller, but I don't know if I really need one right now as it'd mostly function as a desk decoration (especially with so many NEW games coming out). With that in mind, the Famicom Mini would actually be a better choice, as it's smaller and cooler looking. Sadly I missed the Amazon Japan pre-order period, so it might be awhile before I'll be able to get one.

    Anyway, who wants one?

Editing … I got caught up in the excitement when it was first announced, but now that I've had time to think about it I think I'm just going to pass. There are waaaay too many games I am planning on getting over the next few months and there just won't be time to get round to playing this. Especially when I have already played/owned most of the games on it.

Editing … I always considered this a novelty, I'm surprised there is so much hype for it especially considering it's a waste of plastic.

Editing … The controllers should have been wireless and the console should have been an HDMI dongle.

Editing … You're right, they absolutely could've and should've done that, and the world would've been better for it, as I doubt those plastic cases are made out of bio-degradable fake-plastic. But it wouldn't have sold as much. I think having it be a miniature version of the original is key. They could've gotten away with it being wireless though.

Editing … Whether it's biodegradeable wasn't the point, I meant it's a waste of space and that Wii, WiiU, and 3DS can already play NES games, same with NX. There's something aggravating about the fact that Nintendo saw it fit to release this. Even a mini game boy with preloaded games would've made more sense than this since you wouldnt need another fucking box under your TV, with fucking 3-foot controller cords, but game boys would cost slightly more to produce since they have their own screens, and ninty be all like, eh we don't want to spend money we just wanna rip people off for as little of an investment as possible.
