What I expected from Cure and what I got from Cure came to be two different things. What I expected was a psychological thriller and instead what I got was more a kin to a psychological horror. And you know what? It's a pretty good one. Kurosawa (not to be confused with that guy who did the Magnificent Samurai's or w/e) directs the hell out of this, creating a great amount of uncertainty that did a wonderful job of getting under my skin (the ending in particular). Not a big horror fan by any stretch (mostly cause I cannot stand what the majority of them consider "horror") but it's definitely horror movies like this that remind me that the genre isn't all that unbearable.
