Whit Stillman's take on Jane Austen is something I've wanted to see since seeing his debut film Metropolitan and the result is not only Stillman's most enjoyable & comedic film to date but also the best one I've seen from the director/writer - this is no doubt a perfect match. For those who enjoy period piece dramas - from the language to the lavish set design - you will find a lot to enjoy from this film - though if definitely won't be changing your mind if you're indifferent towards such films. Kate Beckinsale is genuinely great in this and really does show off how good she can actually be when given the chance, which sadly seems to be quite rare - cause I mean it's not like people are watching Underworld for her acting capabilities. All in all, I feel that I got exactly what I wanted/expected from Stillman's latest outing.
