Am I the only person who thinks the secret courses in this game are fucking genious? The game gives Mario a plethora of new moves from the get-go with the introduction of fludd, and then strips you of almost everything to make the game essentially be just another standard platformer. Although because the game is now a standard mario platformer it becomes much more difficult as a result due to how they design the secret courses. I always found it interesting how they design the normal levels around fludd only to take it away and make something that both feels completely different and similar at the same time. Mario Galaxy makes it more apparent how special this game is, because while it adds new mechanics they are nowhere near as intuitive as fludd.
