So gameplay footage has finally been revealed for Level-5's "The Snack World," and.... it's a traditional RPG! With an overworld, dungeons, towns, a posse, and real-time battles. Was not expecting this with Ni no Kuni DS not having done nearly the same numbers as Inazuma Eleven and Yo-kai Watch, but I guess they're giving it another go. Of course, they're not entirely comparable, as this is a children's cross-media project with an anime and NFC toys, and the gameplay looks to be a bit more casual, but overall I like what I've seen so far and will definitely keep an eye on it.

It's scheduled for release in Japan on iOS and Android in April 2017, and on 3DS in July 2017. A Western release is to be expected, but could potentially take several years if previous games are any indication. Hopefully things will move a bit faster now that Level-5 has an actual presence in the West.
