So, first of all, again I would appreciate this list being expanded. There are so many podcasts I've listened to that I could genuinely do a top 100. But I would love for this to go up to 25 now. Podcasts are entire medium so deserve room to breathe.

Editing … That's more than enough so I'll stop there, but if it was something you were inclined to do I would frankly made podcasts/audio drama etc. an entirely new category. I personally have lists for podcasts as Arts Podcasts, Cultural Podcasts, Drama Podcasts, Educational Podcasts, Entertainment Podcasts, Fandom Podcasts, News Podcasts (actually I have it split by Mainstream News and Left Wing, but that's just for me), Policy Podcasts, and Tabletop Gaming Podcasts (mostly meaning actual play but also some news and advice stuff).

Editing … Podcasts are one of my favorite forms of new media, and I listen to them almost every day. TRhere have been times when I was binging dozens of shows in the background over the course of a day, and times like now where I mostly keep up with a handful of shows and occasionally put one more in the rotation, but they've always been a big part of my media consumption basically since I got a smartphone in 2016. It's basically as varied and vast as TV, and while some of the shows I listed are niche, a lot of podcasts, including some that I mentioned, have large followings.

Editing … Would you wanna make a pastebin with each page title followed by a description? Description can be snatched from their Wikipedia/Fandom/YouTube/Wherever, or can just be "This is a podcast by these guys." I ain't had COFFEE yet :(

Editing … I can do that over the next couple of days. I don't think they all have wiki articles, though a bunch do. But I can do some write-ups. Thank you for your unending patience!

Could this potentially get increased to 20? Just because there are so many great settings out there.

Editing … Also please add as settings: Redwall World/World of Redwall (either/or), The Unsleeping City (Dimension 20), Marvel Cinematic Universe (as a distinct setting), Spyre (Dimension 20), Remnant (RWBY), Amestris (Fullmetal Alchemist), Bahumia (Not Another D&D Podcast), Trinyvale (Not Another D&D Podcast), Fableverse (from the Fables comic series), Dragon Ball Universe (surprisingly doesn't seem to be there), Europa (Valkyria Chronicles), Incredibles World, Animorphs Universe (also there doesn't seem like there's any Animorphs on the site at all???), Calorum (Dimension 20), Eldermourne (Not Another D&D Podcast), World of Foon (Hello from the Magic Tavern), and finally the X-Men Film Universe.

Editing … Some of these feel weird to add, since they're just our world but filled with different people. Maybe it'd make more sense to just make the franchise pages themselves rankable. For the X-Men movies I named the page Earth-10005

Editing … I would argue that ones like that (Unsleeping City, Fableverse, Animorphs, MCU, X-Men) are still fundamentally different settings. Having aliens and powers and magic and hidden societies and an established multiverse etc. all makes the settings extremely different from the world we live in. It's not about the characters, but about the rules of the setting. The Unsleeping City is "just magic New York" but there's still a tone of worldbuilding put into it that makes it a distinct place.

Editing … To me the problems with making the franchise pages rankable are twofold: first, it creates more disorganization as they're used for different kinds of lists, which affects the aggregate, and more importantly, there is actually a difference between say the X-Men film series and the setting it takes place in that matters. One is about an entertainment product from an out of universe perspective; the other is worldbuilding and immersiveness and isn't necessarily about the plot or characters at all, and it's important to acknowledge that. There is a difference between something with the franchise tag and something with the location or setting tag (and I would argue setting is a better term than fictional location anyway; all locations are about setting, but setting is about more than just location).
