Back in the early 2000's Halo solely redefined gaming with the legendary Halo: Combat Evolved. The follow up games continued the trend receiving widespread acclaim from critics and gamers alike, and evolved into the multi-billion dollar franchise it is today. These are games that only the "haters" will hate. You'd probably except the latest installment Halo 5: Guardians to be more anticipated, but then 343 Industries decided to master and collect Halo 1 through 4 into one bundle. Where Halo: The Master Chief Collection gets points in is technology, we're talking original game engines for each specific game (Yea, the Halo: Combat Evolved Pistol is back...) that will be launched on your console when you boot up a certain mission or multi-player map. The first question that should be on everyone's mind is "How?" Collecting the classic games, with over one hundred multi-player maps, this outstanding collection will be a must have for Xbox One owners everywhere.

Let's face it, Star Wars is probably the most iconic film and video game franchise's of all time. The original Battlefront's were well received and now it seems that the next generation of consoles will allow developers to make the Star Wars visually amazing and force you to delve into the characters as you storm the battlefield to fight in your favorite sequences. A teaser was shown at E3 2013 but left us with so much tension and excitement that it became frustrating as the year passed without any real news about the next installment of Star Wars: Battlefront. Now at E3 2014, we saw the first alpha footage and an in depth look at the studio behind the game and the creation of what could be the best executed Star Wars game since the original Battlefronts for PS2.

It was amazing to see Mortal Kombat 9 become the best selling Mortal Kombat to date. A game that is packed with nostalgia, brutal deaths and the most awesome fighting sequences to date, it seems that Mortal Kombat X will continue the trend and add it's own twist, with each character having their own variations. The variations will feature new move sets, making it interesting to watch people pick and choose their characters more carefully to adjust to whoever their opponent is playing as. All that and not to mention the interactive stages are visually amazing. It was only a couple weeks ago that we first saw Sub-Zero and Scorpion fighting to the Wiz Khalifa beat, which seemed weirdly appropriate, and in that short time it has risen to what could be one of the best fighting games of the next generation of consoles.

There's only hope that everyone who bitched and complained about Bayonetta 2 being a Wii U exclusive is kicking themselves right now. Bayonetta 2 looks like everything that allowed us to love the first installment and then some, and by and then some, I mean an HD Port of the original game included with the second. The super sexy, boot-gun wielding, witch hunter is back with just as much action and intensity as the first. Let's hope for just as many combos as the first!

If there's one thing that Farcry 3 did wrong was post this quote in an advertisement, "It's like Skyrim, with guns." Comparing itself to the mighty sensation that was The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was a move that couldn't be reversed, but still managed to compensate with a murderous, downright insane, villain, and some fun gameplay that made it the success that it is today. With the preview we saw during Ubisoft's presentation at E3, well, Farcry 4 might be Skyrim with guns after all, and then some. With an awesome trailer featuring the main character and the villain taking a selfie, and some spectacular visuals and outstanding gameplay, Farcry 4 has pocket aces with two more on the flop and they are ready to go all in. A sequel to an already extremely popular game, this is lined up to be the best action packed adventure in the coming year.
