    Uli Hoeneß, the President of German football club ##FC Bayern München, was sent to trial for tax evasion in March 2014.

    He is reported to have held a Swiss bank account for the purpose of evading taxes due on investment income, and to owe 28 million in taxes to the German state. The court in ##Munich subsequently sentenced him to 3 1/2 years in prison on 13th March, 2014.
