    I don't rap was truly appreciated as an art form until the Tribe showed up. Some critics have often compared them to the Beatles, based on how they developed the genre. The Low End Theory showed that the Tribe didn't just picture rap as a pop phenomenon, but as a music style with roots that stretch beyond jazz and African art sensibilities. Even their "Jazz (We've Got) Buggin' Out" music video literally switches from monochrome to Andy Warhol color seamlessly. The group was never the most popular, but they challenged the medium more than any group ever did.
