    When watching "Selma" one cannot help but get this eerie feeling. With both Ferguson, and eventually Baltimore, in our minds one cannot help but draw parallels; I cannot recall a moment where the civil rights movement has been this topical in a film. In director Ava Duvernay's third feature she has not only crafted wonderful depiction of one of the most important moments of the civil rights movement she has also, in a subtle & calm way, questions & wonders if the civil rights movement was enough. The riots occurring in Ferguson were definitely on the minds of Paul Webb & DuVernay as they wrote Selma's screenplay and it shows. "Selma" is really more then just a biography of MLK's organized march on Montgomery Alabama from Selma, and really the film is good enough just as that. David Oyelowo's performance is flat out phenomenal, DuVernay does a wonderful job of crafting a empathetic story about the movement. As a pure biography it works great, but it's that little edge that Duvernay adds
