My Razer Hydra's shipping was continuously delayed, but it finally arrived today. The eBay seller's listing explained that they had only used it for about 2-3 hours as part of a demo for their software, which I assume to be "SimBuild," as the package included a USB stick with that carved into the wooden cover, with "vrsim.com" carved on the other side. It's a really nice USB stick. It just contains the drivers and a pdf for Razer's "master guide" but hey I've got a nice wooden USB stick (1.84GB only but whatever it was free) so that's cool :)
Razer doesn't give out keys for the currently unavailable Hydra-exclusive Portal 2 DLC, unfortunately (also available for PS Move on PS3). BUT SIXENSE DOES SO I GOT IT YAY AWESOME :D
Got some software to allow me to set the hardware up for any game, as well as pre-made bindings for a few hundred games, so nice, sick. I'm excited. I got a Razer Hydra yeah.
The motion sensing base is now a permanent part of my desk setup, since I've got the cord running down the back of my desk :)
Next oddware: Tuact Venom X4? Unsure if it's worth its market value, but I've seen some tempting deals. I just like to be able to play each game in whichever control scheme is most ergonomic--if it's kb/m, a regular gamepad, the Steam Controller, a special keypad, the Razer Hydra, wand/mouse, or whatever else, I wanna be able to play it that way.
Oh but maybe I'd like a mouse/wand combo with PlayStation buttons on them (though the Venom X4 supports consoles as well, it just doesn't have the specialized button markers). It might feel weird since it's just a mouse emulating a controller, but perhaps it'd feel a bit less sluggish.

Editing … I'll probably try some favorites with it. Alan Wake looks like it would play really well with it, and Prey's a go-to for new hardware for me. I think I might enjoy Dragon's Dogma and Assassin's Creed with it, too. Right now I'm playing Crysis 2 with kb/m, but I might switch to the Hydra and see how that goes.

I think I want one of these more than I want a PS4.
I can get them for around $200, but is that worth it for a controller? I mean... but...
If I can find one that includes the case for $200 or less, then I think I'm buying it on the spot.
