Witty, sarcastic, intelligent, and utterly fucking brilliant, Daniel Hardcastle, better known as NerdCubed (stylized Nerd³), is an up-and-coming YouTube gaming sensation from the UK. A great comic personality and an intellectual, Dan has endeared many fans to him as a result of his gaming videos, which have garnered him a Machinima.com contract. He also vlogs on his second youtube channel. Dan's father is also operating a channel of his own, with Dan helping him through the process.
Dan's rise to youtube fame actually began with a Webcomic. The comic was made primarily of screenshots of Minecraft or snapshots of Minecraft character models tweaked with model manipulation software, or on occassion Garry's Mod. The comics themselves actually became fairly popular. Dan still does them, though rarely, as making Youtube videos is a suprisingly demanding profession. Dan eventually discovered youtube a few years back, and became really interested in Gaming Videos.
Soon afterword, Dan created a machinima series called 13 Ways to Die. The series, as it's name suggests, shows 13 unique ways to kill the player character or other characters in a specific video game. The series was quickly popularized, and as a result, Dan began experimenting with commentary videos, and found that the fans loved his commentary. Eventually Machinima.com, who specialize in gaming videos, discovered Dan, and his series 13 Ways to Die. Realizing quickly that Dan was witty, funny, capable, and enjoyable, Machinima offered him a contract. Dan accepted.
Since then Dan's channel has evolved into a gaming channel in which Dan plays games he's heard of or enjoy that are typically outside the realm of common knowledge. In other words, no, you won't be seeing Dan play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Dan's videos are often edited videos of him being ridiculous and funny. Dan has also started some other series. These include Nerd³ Plays, Nerd³ Completes, Three Free Games Fridays, Father and Son-days, Inthelittlecubed, Nerd³ Permadeath, Nerd³ Early Plays. and Nerd³ Soapbox. (Note: Three Games Fridays has died due to Youtube Copyright Policy changing and the Early Plays Series has changed its name to Alpha Detective.)
On Friday 26th July 2013 Dan reached 1,000,000 procrastinators.
Note: Most series mentioned have ended or been rebranded most likely because copyright is a bitch...
He now runs Nerd³ Plays, Nerd³ Father And Son-Days, Nerd³ 101, Nerd³ The Alpha Detective (as mentioned), Nerd³'s Hell, Nerd³ Challenges, an occasional Nerd³ Extra, and Little and Cubed.
