Hey guys, I need some help. What's the best free program to put my digital downloads on a dvd so I can watch them on a dvd player? I need them to work perfectly.

Some yearly bike reviews are only available digitally because of license reasons and I have gaps in my collection, I'd like to have them ALL lined up in order on a shelf, I'm going to print off the covers and buy dvd cases.

What's the percentage of people who still prefer DVDs over blu-rays?

Is there any conrete data out there regarding the market share of each demographic? Of course both aren't mutually exclusive; I reckon there are lots of people out there who buy both DVDs and blu-rays on a regular basis, but my gut tells me that the good ol' #Digital Versatile Disc is still chugging along nicely.

The only information I found was from 2011 that said that the physical market for movies is basically split 50/50 between blu-ray and dvd.

Was blu-ray merely a stopgap format?

Editing … I for one own about 400-600 DVDs and exactly five blu-rays (Alien 1-3, Avatar, Ghost in the Shell 3), so that should give you an idea what I think about that format. The increased cost of blu-rays simply isn't worth it to me.

Editing … I think the main reason for this is Bluray players. I personally dont know anyone who owns one, unless you count the PS3 of course. But most of the people who buy the PS3 don't buy it for the bluray player. Also, for example, The Hobbit Extended Edition is 30€ in FNAC for the Bluray edition while the DVD edition is 15€, both contain exactly the same, so why should I waste the double of the price on it? Plus I can still get tons of DvDs for 5€ and stuff, which I can't with Blurays.

Editing … I've picked up a few of my favourite films on Blu-ray since I got my PS3 but mostly it just isn't worth it.

Editing … I don't have a single blu-ray or even blu-ray player. I do have lots and lots of DVD's and more than one DVD-player.

Editing … And yeah I am not overly impressed by blu-rays right now. I buy some when there are good special offers but never for full price, it is just too expensive when compared to DVDs. And there are still tons of obscure films that doesn't even have a blu-ray release (and probably won't for a very long time) so I will keep going with DVD's for awhile.

Editing … A film is a film, I go for the cheapest because it looks the same to me. I do have a couple of 3D blurays though.

Editing … Blu-rays are almost ten years old now, if they were going to take off as the leading format for films I'm guessing they would have by now.
