Isabella wanted to watch Princess Jasmine. I'm actually quite enjoying it, it's a good film.

"I know that whole parade was created by Genie's magic....but what happened to them after Jafar kicked them out? was the whole city just looking at this huge group and suddenly poof they disappear, No one asked Hey Prince Ali...didn't you have a huge crew with you just this morning?"
    - Hilarious comment on Prince Ali song

Also WTF is this 7.5 score average?

Editing … The movie makes that kind of spectacle look so easy, like any old cheap cartoon could pull it off.

Aladdin's kind of the same deal as The Simpsons. When I was little my favorite movie was The Fox and the Hound, then it was Kangaroo Jack (sadly), then it was The Shining, and then The Brave Little Toaster. But through all of that the movie I could watch over and over again and always be entertained was Aladdin, and that's how it ended up my number 1.

Imagine how much Aladdin would've bombed at the box office if it came out 10 years later:
a kid's movie that glorifies the life style of a middle eastern small time criminal?
Fox news would've had a field day with this in a post 9/11 world.
"Disney brainwashes American kids by undermining the values of our proud nation by exposing them to al quaeda propaganda movie. Have the terrorists already won?"

Editing … Alladin would not even be close to the same movie if it was released 10 years later. You can not tell me Beauty and the Beast, Alladin, and the Lion King feel the same as Lilo and Stitch, The Emperors New Groove, Treasure Planet and Atlantis: The Lost Empire.

Editing … Also if it came out now I think people would be happy because it is a Disney Movie with an all non-white cast which people want! But if it came out in 2002 it would never be released for the reason you said. Too soon for most people even though it has nothing to do with 9/11 lol.

Editing … To me Lilo and Stitch feels a lot more like Aladdin and The Lion King than Atlantis or Treasure Planet (which I haven't seen but I assume it feels a lot like Atlantis).

Editing … Eh, I dunno about that. The Gulf War didn't seem to affect it either. Well, aside from Disney changing the original setting from Baghdad to "Agrabah," of course. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time also did great, and Assassin's Creed sold bazillions. Also, ugh, 2000-2009-era Disney... Still haven't watched Chicken Little, nor do I have any intention to.

Editing … Yeah, 2000-2009 was rough, but I love Bolt, and really like Lilo and Stitch. And actually, I liked Atlantis alright.

I had this ranked at 14th, but going back, I realize that was crazy. I've now ranked it at number 1. It's not the deepest or most emotional film, but it doesn't need to be. It's pure entertainment, extremely fun, and bursting at the seams with energy. I watched it a million times as a kid, always enjoyed it, pretty much know every scene by heart, and still enjoy it now. It's so attention grabbing that I can't possibly think about anything else for 90 minutes, and if I start it I'm always going to finish it, even if I've seen it a hundred times. Maybe if I saw it for the first time now as an adult, I wouldn't care for it, but that's alternate universe Raymond's problem.

Another "Disney Princess" film that portrayed a woman (let alone a woman of color) in a decent light, though Jafar's rapey/creep factor is a bit on the disturbing side. The middle eastern setting is really memorable, and Robin Williams as the Genie is awesome. I remember how the section with the Cave of Wonders scared the poop out of me as a kid, but it was really well animated.

Aladdin will always be my favorite movie of all time. The music is incredible, the characters are likable, the animation is gorgeous, and the writing is laugh out loud funny. Everything oozes personality and charm and watching this movie is an unforgettable experience that takes me back to my childhood. I don't know what it is but every time I watch Aladdin, it keeps getting better and better.
