Great sci-fi/action film. The problem is that it had to live up to a masterpiece and, as expected, it failed. But it's still miles better than many others of it's time, with some clever ideas to continue the first movie, some new and interesting characters and some more brilliantly shot action scenes. While it is the weakest link of the trilogy, it's still a great sci-fi action movie and it's worth to watch.
