At first I wasn't bothered about Johnny Rea. Yeah, he beat Carl Fogartys record but I argued that he did it against poor riders in a weak championship.

But then I went back and watched his career from the beginning again. From setting pole position aged 17 on a superbike he'd never ridden, to his first podium a year later where he matched some of the top superbike riders around all season long, and all the way to his first world championship.

He's now one of my favourite riders and just as talented as Carl Fogarty.
