This game definitely needed another six months to a year in the oven. The new update appears substantial, but it happened to come out at a time of year when I'm drowning in games to play - Don't know when I'll ever get around to playing the new content. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this game (as it launched), but there's no denying that this game's backlash wouldn't have been nearly as bad if those features had been included at launch.

Evidently, there's more content to come, so it might be interesting to see how ambitious Hello Games wanted to get with No Man's Sky, but it's very hard to argue that they didn't drop the ball during the launch window. I definitely recognize that I'm in the vast minority that enjoyed this game.
