Such a disappointing game full of wasted potential. I loved the original NiGHTS and I was SO hyped for the sequel. The flying gameplay seems promising at first but quickly gets boring as the chase sequences provide no real challenge and lack the scoring system that gave NiD it's replayability. Additionally, the game is bogged down by terrible on-foot levels, pointless mini-game levels, and a completely unnecessary and terrible story. And it's all just such a shame since there's some good concepts in this game that had potential for greatness. However, the music was fantastic and some of the bosses were kind of neat.

Shameful. Absolutely shameful.

I don't understand why this game gets so much flack, the courses are fantastic with fun new courses and a well chosen mix of old favourites. The addition of bikes was also one of the best decisions nintendo has made in the series(I love how the bikes control. The karts IMO feel far too bulky and heavy. Infact, i kind of wish nintendo would make a spinoff bike racing series because of this.) and the online worked pretty well for a wii game. I haven't played Mario Kart 7 yet so this opinion may change in the fitr but.. as it stands, Mario Kart wii is my favorite mario kart game of all time. I would have rated this a 9 if only they hadn't put in those annoying new items.

Melee perfected the smash bros formula. With it's cast of varied and beloved nintendo characters, frantic fast-paced action, and competitive depth melee is one of those few games that not only has something for everyone but EXCEEDS at pleasing both demographics.
Brawl may have added more characters but it stripped away melee's fast and smooth pacing and added a bunch of pointlessly overpowered items that seemed to be added just for the purposing of being "wacky" rather than adding to the fun.
Score: 10.0 (Classic!)
