In the 7 years since I made this list, I've completed one of them. Go me!

Editing … I finished 30 games last year and added 40 to my backlog. I aim to do better this year. I haven't bought a single game from 2024 so far.

Editing … Oh wow, that's a lot. Did any of them become favorites? I've mostly been replaying old games tbh. I don't really buy new games anymore unless they are Square Enix or Naughty Dog

Editing … Lots of favs. The top 10 of those 30 in no particular order would be Hades, the Ori games, Hi Fi Rush, TMNT Shredder's Revenge, Marvel Midnight Suns, Inscryption, Rogue Legacy 2 Outer Wilds and Humanity.

Editing … Nice! I was thinking of trying Midnight Suns after I finish Yakuza: Like a Dragon. I'm torn between that and Sea of Stars though. I liked the X-COM vibe it gave off.

Editing … I've never considered myself a fan of deck builders but I've played quite a few in the last couple years and would recommend most of them. I think Midnight Suns is very underrated. The combat system makes terrific use of the characters and their range of powers, heading back to base to bond with your team and upgrade your cards is great fun, and unlike some I even enjoyed the story. The only downside is exploring the grounds of the Abbey. It's so tedious. But the promo material introduced me to that cool cover of Enter Sandman, so that's nice. Oh, and I want this as an actual animated series yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9IPmCKu7qI

Editing … It's okay guys, I've only got a backlog of about 500 games. I'm sure I'll get to them all eventually.....

Editing … why would anyone play an endless game if they have a backlog. For that matter why do endless games even exist. Just something I've been wondering.

Editing … For fun. Not every game has to be completed. I've played plenty of games that I've not seen the end of, yet have been satisfied with what I played of them.
