Anyone know of a place that has the rom for download? emuparadise only has the beta version.
edit: nevermind, a youtube commenter uploaded it: http://bit.ly/2zXBMhA
edit: just tried playing it with my keyboard and the game seems pretty fun xD can\'t wait to try it on my psp with proper controls.. I just hope the PSP will run a rom that\'s a bin file instead of an md file. (does it matter?)

rockshard PhD Yep it is. I gave it a spin on PC, the diifferences were immediately noticeable. (and it's been over a decade since I played the game on the Saturn) I don't have a gemepad though, so when I get around to it, I'll try running it on PSP.

Currently playing Armored Core 3 Portable.. when I finish it I will have the option to transfer my save over to Armored Core: Silent Line Portable. (and then to Armored Core: Last Raven Portable, after beating the first two games) But now I'm wondering whether I should. Wouldn't the game be too easy that way? Wouldn't I have more fun starting fresh?

If I don't do this, I can judge each game as a stand-alone. But all things considered, there's no reason not to play the games in order, even if you choose not to transfer your save. AC3 has the fewest AC parts to choose from so that makes it the best introduction, it makes more sense to introduce parts in increments, instead of laying it all on at once with Last Raven.

If there is a difficulty select, then I should probably pick Hard if I carry over my save. In fact, this is probably a good reason to carry over my save since this way I can experience the higher difficulty, which is probably going to be more interesting than simply handicapping myself on a lower difficulty.

However if I just wanted to beat the games as quickly as possible then transferring my save is the best bet. But I also would like to experience the games properly if I can, if I can only determine what that is.

I have to say I wouldn't really mind blazing through the games, seeing as I don't use my PSP much lately. And since it's a three-game daisy chain, there's a lot of pressure to finish all three now that I've started them. I've already played AC3 and SL before on the PS2, it would be a huge waste to play through both of them again only to quit without finishing Last Raven.

In theory, starting fresh wouldn't change things all that much, you'd still remember what your mech was made out of and be able to rebuild it one part at a time. But without this element, there's no point to the first half of the game.
Did the creators take this into account when making the games? Maybe the difficulty increases if you use a previous game's save. Or maybe the game is much harder regardless. Ugh.. I don't know. And to make things worse, I'm not supposed to know.

Armored Core 3

Silent Gamer I have had this dilemma several times as well. It's the same ome I have with games that offer free DLC like weapons. Should I download them or will starting the game with these weapons negatively impact my experience of the game? I usually decide against them and then download them on a replay.

I can text from my PC using Pulse app, but to sign up I have to pay.

99 cents a month
5.99 a year
or 10.99 lifetime which seems like a pretty good deal

Also I have 6.81 in my Google wallet. I have no idea what I'd use it for so maybe I should just grab the 1 year.

I have a social security hearing coming up in September. But I don't want to go. In fact I'm wondering if I should fight this somehow. I could do something like send in the form saying I'll show up but not show up, or send in the form without filling anything out. Though what I could also do is simply check in the box saying I can't make it, or ignore the form altogether which would be the most convenient option.

At first I was ashamed of myself for not wanting to go and feeling like I'm lazy. (possibly due to my disciplinarian brainwashing) But I've started to realize that maybe I'm not wrong. This is essentially a form of terrorism. They're holding my social security hostage and forcing me to beg for it, literally. And why would you schedule this three months in advance. If someone can wait three months for something then they probably don't need it anymore, dontcha think? I don't even know what I stand to gain, which makes this all the more awkward. What I *do* know is that this is ruining me, and that I shouldn't have to put up with that. Not anymore.

I am posting this here just so if I do act, I don't feel like I'm acting alone on my crazy whims, but something that has been at least somewhat thought out, discussed.

DEAL WITH IT

Silent Gamer Hmm, wasn't there a game that used a mechanic like that? As in, if you were levelled up enough that you would obviously win, instead of taking you to the battle screen like usual, they just made the enemy sprite die when you touched them and gave you the experience/loot.

rockshard PhD I was considering making it an element where the weak enemies wear down your hp/mp which makes you weaker for the enemies ahead, even if a boss is coming up. But this may be frustrating for the player so I was considering replenishing hp/mp right before each new battle. But that's not good either because.. wait, why is that not good? It's a neat idea. You only get replenished however if you've never won the battle before. This really adds to the survival gauntlet aspect of my game! Player is no longer punished for getting farther in the game! (by facing the toughest enemies when the party would be the most worn out) This way when the player reaches the next dungeon they've achieved a sort of safe zone. Also I just realized this effectively makes each new battle a boss. It's easy to explain in the narrative too. The player starts near a healing spring, so I can just say they take some of the water with them.
