Imagine a cross-over between Gone Home and P.T. and you've got the gist of this masterpiece. So, after a series of spooky rooms and two jump scares in a row, I opened a door and walked into a simple enough room. The room had no furniture. Just four walls and a door. Soon it had no doors. Just four walls. I noped the fuck out of the game. Turned it on the next day and started playing from a checkpoint, expecting to replay the game up to the doorless room part. Except, I immediately found out that a different set of rooms and spooks awaited me. Fuck this (brilliant) game!
Pros: Near perfect mix of nervewrecking psychological and jump-scare horror, genius game design/tricks, messes with you in all the best/worst ways, superb story and writing, (environmental) storytelling is some of the best the medium has seen, the little touches in gameplay are great, different paths and excellent endings, the more you invest in the game - the scarier it gets, incredible exploration, excellent music and art, astounding pacing
Cons: Could have used more assets and paintings, a few spooks are reused

Score: 10.0 (Classic!)

The Last of Us: Left Behind is made out of two very distinct halves. One that focuses on exploration and combat encounters, while the other one focuses on storytelling. The two are loosely connected both in terms of story and gameplay, which makes the frequent jumps between them a bit jarring. That being said, both halves are excellent and make this DLC well worthwhile.
Pros: The story of Ellie and Riley is excellent, interesting side story during Ellie's solo campaign, superb writing and characters, great environmental storytelling, great atmosphere and attention to detail, overall good combat encounters and rock-solid game design, varied gameplay, nice mix of stealth, combat and exploration
Cons: Two distinct portions intertwine one with another, while barely having any connection between themselves, cumbersome to switch between different weapons in the heat of the moment, a few scripted enemy encounters that come out of nowhere

Score: 9.0 (Fantastic!)

MGS series was always known for its highly cinematic experience and superb gameplay. The synergy between the two, while ever changing (in order to find the ''right'' balance between the two) and often disputed, was iconic. MGSV: GZ, on the other hand, stripped away the cinematic experience from the package and focused instead on the gameplay aspect - resulting in a mechanically excellent, but ultimately soulless MGS game.
Pros: Puts an interesting spin on the Peace Walker's story, excellent game and level design, offers different approaches and routes to suit your game style and situations that can pop up, great sound design and music
Cons: Visuals (although great on the tech side) lack the typical MGS flair, resulting in a highly generic looking game, Camp Omega (although a fun playground) isn't very memorable, Kiefer Sutherland phoned his performance in, lacks the typical cutscene-to-gameplay MGS rhythm as well as a boss fight to round it off, at launch it was overpriced for what you got, lacks series' quirkiness

Score: 7.0 (Good!)
