Fast cars, fast soundtrack, and fast deaths make this a game for the adrenaline junkies.

With 18 tracks to race across, and 40 songs to listen to this game deserves to be in anyone's collection. You gain the ability to earn boost for your car by making your opponents crash in an impressive number of ways. However, you lose boost by getting yourself taken out, so keeping an eye on whose sneaking up behind you is important!

You unlock cars and new locations to race by winning events around the world. Such as 1 v 1 races against your rival, Road Rage races to see who takes down the most opponents, solo races where you've to beat the clock, and classic 3 stage races to see who the overall champion is.

If there's any downsides it's the AI being programmed to have unlimited boost in certain races.

While no longer online the game still has split screen racing, a feature sorely missed by many fans of today's racing genre. If any game deserves a remaster it's Burnout 3: Takedown.

Resident Evil 4. The game that forever changed the series for better or worse depending on who you ask. While it was for the worse in my opinion I still find this game to be one of the greatest games released and a must own for anyone who likes 3rd person action.

What it lacks in scares it makes up for in constant tension and near death experiences. Added to that is an array of weapons all with the option to be fully upgraded and the ability to sell and buy new ones as you see fit.

It is not fully without horror though. You'll encounter enemies that can saw your head off with a chainsaw in one strike, to being lost in a maze surrounded by mutated dogs, and despite replacing horror for action it possibly has the scariest enemy ever introduced to the series - the Regenerator. Oh, the irony.

With constant location, enemy, and weapon changes along with a high and fun boss count RE4 manages to surprising remain fresh for its 14+ hour game time. A rare sight to be seen.

Devil May Cry is a Hack 'N Slash game with horror elements and a protagonist whose tongue is as sharp as his sword.

Playing as Dante, the half demon son of the legendary Dark Knight Sparda it's your mission in life to keep the humans safe from the hounds of Hell sent by Mundus, a demon of such great power he can create life as easily as he can take it.

With two handguns - Ebony and Ivory, and his sword - The Rebellion, you'll skillfully and more importantly - stylishly fight through an army of demons through a dark and atmosphere heavy castle. It's not all about fighting though. You'll have to solves puzzles and find keys ala Resident Evil, which isn't surprising as DMC started life as Resident Evil 4.

With 20 missions and boss battles that include giant eagles, giant lava tarantulas, 50 foot living statues, and an above average difficult you won't be bored with Devil May Cry for a long time.

Only downside to this game is the lack of Bloody Palace shown in later installments.

Persona 3 is about 50 hours of school work, dating, friendships, and murdering the evils of the night. So a typical high school life.

Every midnight the population turn into coffins and the school transforms into a giant tower filled with soulless creatures. Along with your friends you'll battle your way to the top of the tower each night to discover the reason why this is all happening, and during the day you'll eat ramen with the creepy kid in class that made a teacher want to transfer schools.

With classic JRPG gameplay, a kickass soundtrack and anime character designs, this game is the Otaku's wet dream.

Building a social link with your friends will give you options for stronger, scarier Personas that will help in your fight against the Shadows. You build these social links by hanging out with your friends at the mall, school, or helping them with their own personal battles in life. It may not sound exciting, but it truly is, and without them the game is much less enjoyable.

Final Fantasy X is a story of sacrifice, and my personal favourite Final Fantasy. As much fun this game is to play you'll probably spend just as much time depressed once you solve some of the mysteries of the past and learn the what the end goal truly is. That might be a turn off to some, but with how near perfect this game is it'd be a crime to pass it up.

Being the first FF game to have voice acting Square do a decent job. Some characters might come across a little monotone and dead pan, but the main cast is on their A-Game and that's what truly matters.

Gameplay is classic FF in that monsters are found in random encounters. However, with summons, magic, and swords too damn big for a normal man to lift you can defeat the evils of the world. New to the series is the Sphere Grid: A leveling system that may scare away new comers, but is easy once you begin to understand it and helps make all the characters unique and useful. Something not always found in Final Fantasy.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is the first MGS game of the PS2 era and it pulls no punches. With not one, but two protagonists we get to see Solid Snake like we never have before.

MGS2 brought many gameplay aspects that have been with the series since: Holding guards up, searching their bodies, dragging their dead/sleeping/knocked out selves away from open areas to hide them in lockers of which you can use yourself should you need to. Porn Magazines, tranquilizer guns! All the fun you expect from MGS today started here.

This games story is one of identity, censorship, population and internet control. If anything this game is more important today than it was during its release in 2001, and for that alone I have to recommend this title.

If there is any downsides to MGS2 its the long winded cutscenes and codec conversations that interrupt the flow off the game; "Do you know what day tomorrow is, Jack?" Luckily this title has enough gameplay and replay value to make up for it.

The story of Naked Snake before he became the "Greatest Solider of the 20th Century" is one of the most enjoyable, complex and saddest character arcs a game on any system, not just the PS2, has to offer. Watching him grow into the man that will be known as Big Boss as you sneak through the jungles of Russia will give you an experience you can't and won't find anywhere else.

From boss battles that have you swimming under water to avoid bullet bees, to fighting a man hiding in the trees with Predator-like-stealth, to a 100 year old sniper in a battle that spans 3 vast forest areas that could possibly take hours to surpass you won't find an ounce of repetitiveness in this game.

Add in the new stealth gameplay in that of the camo index that sees you switching uniforms to better suit your surroundings, hunting for food and bandages to keep your stamina high, and the ability to hold guards hostage to gather information, MGS3 brings a breath of fresh air to the Metal Gear Solid series.
