New Vegas sets the standard for what storytelling in games should be. It's a rich and deep game that offers quite a bit of consequence to your actions. Sometimes, there just wasn't a good ending for a quest and you had to make that choice. Gameplay wise, it's an improvement upon what Fallout 3 set down, but this time the VATS system doesn't have to be relied upon so heavily. With a main quest and character that are relatively interesting and an overarching story that is only added upon by absolutely gold DLC (I've loved each and every one), Fallout: New Vegas is one of the few true roleplaying experiences in the gaming world.

Fair warning, play this game on the PC. Not just because of the mods, but it's a bit wonky on the PS3 and 360.
