A lot of people disliked the pacing in the second half of this game. It was quite repetitive. However, you can easily either rush through the entire second half in 3 hours, which eliminates the issue of it being boring because you can get it over with in a day, or you can stop and do the extra sidequests which will make it non-repetitive.

Considering Square's recent RPG innovations have only being partially successful, this game was a great return to RPG mechanics of old with some really great Anti-Frustration Features like being able to control the encounter rate. Can't wait for the sequel.

Grinding endgame can be annoying though, since you literally enter battle, the enemies automatically die because of your passive ability, rinse and repeat.

My grandma also showed me this game after we beat X. An absolute classic. Though the amount of time random encounters take is really frustrating. From the moment you lose control of your character to the moment you can act in battle takes about 20 seconds total. I'll definitely replay this on an emulator when I get the chance so I can speed it up when needs be.

Not quite as good as FFX but, in my opinion, really underrated. Most people are put off by the happy-go-lucky theme of the first few hours which is vastly different from FFX. But the funny thing is that one of the main themes of FFX-2 is change. So, the people who don't like the change in themes in X-2 are representing the people in the very game who refuse to change (i.e. New Yevon).

Oh, and the battle system's kinda cool. Changing jobs mid-combat is really innovative and gives you a lot of options.

The art style of this game is really inspiring and the story is one of my favourite in any JRPGs because it avoids a lot of Clichés. The pin battle system is unique too.

Another solid Kingdom Hearts game. It invented the Command Deck battle system, which is really deep with the whole melding commands thing. Difficulty can be a little inconsistent as the story progresses, though.

I played this game a ton when I was young and know a lot more than I care to admit about it. It brings back a lot of memories because I used to play it with my late grandma, who was a JRPG fan. She introduced me to the genre when I was 6 with this game, and I instantly took a liking to the elemental battle system. Also, as a young'un, I wouldn't have coped well with an ATB system, so the turn-based system was awesome for me.

Only complaint, you're a bit slow on the world map so there's a lot of pointless walking, amplified in a world criticised as one giant corridor.

I love this game so much. Every month or so I'll sit down and marathon this game with all my free time. It brings back so many memories and the extra stuff in the Final Mix version is awesome, and is why I can't wait for 2.5 HD ReMix! I would give this a 10 if Final Mix were released overseas in the first place.

Only played a few hours but this is brilliant. The combat is really balanced and the plethora of characters to choose gives the player a lot of options. If I had to make one complaint, it's quite daunting at first because it doesn't feed information to the player slowly.

Absolutely amazing. One of my favourite soundtracks of any game, epic story, and just loads of CONTENT. You can lose yourself in the massive gameworlds for hundreds of hours.
