Animal Crossing is one of those addictive and time-consuming games where you could spend ten hours building your home and speaking with cute-but-strange creatures moving in and out of the town. For me, it wasn't love at first sight. I was already fond of strategy games and RPGs in the early 20s and the Final Fantasy series (#Final Fantasy IX especially) left my feet on the ground but my head in the stars, for a short time. Back in 2003, a serious disease occured and I swapped my gaming console for medical machines. My parents bought me the #GameCube after leaving the hospital, and #Animal Crossing was just the game I needed, easy to use and as strange as what I had just experienced. I felt like one of those freaking villagers, from a distant planet. I don't know if I would have bond with this game as much as I did if I hadn't gone through this. I tried many times to get back to series with the sequels, but I never felt the same sensations than the first time.
