...this is a truly horrible and sad week for any and every player and actual appreciator of high quality MMORPGs. On March 11, EverQuest Next, a very promising and simply amazing title's development, has been cancelled. EverQuest is one of the biggest names in the MMORPG genre, each and every game that came out under this license was always an extremely solid piece of video game art, and both EverQuest and EverQuest II became living classics almost instantly after their initial release. EverQuest Next was bound to become the third major successor to the line...and now, after 5 long years of development...it was killed off...essentially murdered...unforgivable.
