I read more than 2000 comic books, approximately 90% are #Marvel Comics and 10% #DC Comics.

Editing … You read only Marvel and DC? Or is this a comparison between the two?

Editing … Nice! I've lost count myself but at the same time I don't think I've read that many.

Editing … I think I read more than a hundred Comics from the other imprints, mostly #Dark Horse Comics with the Star Wars and #Image Comics with Walking Dead (Plus #Fables which is from Vertigo, a DC imprint) but I used to read lots of Marvel when I started reading comics during college.

Editing … I've definitely read more Marvel than DC same as you, partly that's my preference (Batman aside I definitely prefer Marvel) and partly because Marvel Unlimited's an affordable way to read a ridiculous amount of Marvel digitally and there's no DC equivalent. I've read V for Vendetta and Watchmen as well and some Hellboy but the main non DC/Marvel comic I've read's probably Calvin and Hobbes.

Editing … I read some french and belgian comics with #The Smurfs, #Cédric, #Lanfeust of Troy and others, mostly in my childhood and my parents bought me the #Watchmen book for Christmas but I didn't have time as of now. :P I also agree with you, Batman is definitely the greatest achievement of DC.

Editing … Don't get me wrong, I do like Justice League, Flash, Constantine and Supes sometimes (plus DC are behind Watchmen and V for Vendetta) but yeah Batman and his rogues are distinctly the best thing about the main DC universe. On the other hand if you were to take Spider-Man (the only Marvel character I like more than Bats) out of Marvel you'd still be left with a really rich universe with teams like the Avengers and X-Men and characters I appreciate almost as much like Wolverine, Loki, Iron Man and Thor.

Editing … I'd just like to use this opportunity to point out once again that I'm a pretentious douchebag who enjoys reading artsy underground comics with emotions and thus am a better person than all y'all mothafuckas in every way imaginable.

Editing … @Gries He I've seen movies that would make you want to kill yourself out of boredom, and enjoyed them. On the pretentious douchebag scale, I'd say I would overpower you with my taste in music and films (or cinéma as we cinophiles call it).

Editing … Not that I'm qualified to judge but Not Important makes a pretty good case for the cinematic/musical hipster crown, your move Gries. Back on topic @Sha Ember I was wondering are there any characters where you prefer the Ultimate versions to the mainstream versions?

Editing … I'm a big fan of the Earth-616, the question is a tough one. I would only say Spider-Man for now and Mr. Fantastic. I'll tell you more about it in the near future. :P

Editing … Even though Spider-Man's my favourite 616 character and has moments up there with the best of the 1610 version on balance I liked Ultimate Peter Parker even more. The modernisation of his rogues and his supporting cast were mostly for the better as well (or even if they were similar they were consistently written better). Special mention to Ultimate Green Goblin, Aunt May and Nick Fury. I wouldn't say I prefer Ultimate Mr Fantastic but he's definitely an interesting case what with Spoiler eventually going off the rails and becoming a disfigured villain pretty strongly reminiscent of Doom Same deal with Ultimate Thor and Ultimate Cap. The is "Thor a deluded super soldier or is he really a God?" question was an awesome way to introduce him Spoileranswer: Hell yeah he's the God of Thunder and him being a bit of hippy that questions violence and doesn't want to work with the military industrial complex was an interesting twist. Ultimate Cap having backwards 1940s attitudes towards things and being more powerful and way more violent was really interesting to see too even though I wouldn't want them to do the same thing with 616 Cap.
