That's actually rather hilarious: for absolute majority of those people who are not into dark chocolate or never tasted any dark chocolate that's beyond "72%", a bar of 99% Lindt actually tastes like a car tire (or a sneaker), lol. Can't blame the people, since it IS an "acquired taste" all way through, after all. And it only "opens up" fully on eighth or tenth try (at least it was like this for me personally). I think the main "problem" with this lies in the fact that Lindt above 85% is simply not aimed at a standard consumer and it's not supposed to be consumed straight in it's bar form. It's a "confectionery" kind of a chocolate, designed to be used by professional cooks to either melt it down (during water bath-boiling it undergoes a process of natural caramelization, and thus becomes quite sweeter than it's initial form of a solid bar), or to grind it into chips for cake/pie frosting. Quite frankly, I think it's not even save or healthy to eat something like a 99% chocolate straight in it's solid form, without prior and proper preparation. Unless you're such a freak of taste bud-nature as I am (who always seeks the most rawest and most natural of the tastes in everything he eats/drinks) and unless you're a total nerd for quality dark chocolate - tasting 99% Lindt would be an outright freak-out moment for you. Akin to eating Surströmming, trying to survive through Hákarl, or chomping on a nice, big bowl of Nattou (also my favorite) for the very first time ever.

Editing … My deepest condolences to you, then. I, too, thought sometime ago that it was a quality chocolate. Unfortunately, I have gone more deeper in the nuances of Ferrero's product-making, and I have found out quite nasty (outright disgusting) truth. It turned out that, in all actuality, their "chocolate" products are outright GARBAGE, filled to the brim with cheap-ass palm and coconut oil (that's the worst and most unhealthiest sh*t ever, since dissolving temperature of palm and cocoa oil is way higher than human body's temperature. That trash simply doesn't get out easily and lies in chunks and layers inside your organism, clogging up your blood vessels and arteries) instead of actual dairy, and they also use GMOs. I am sh*tting you not. Ferrero Roscher is presented and advertised as being high quality product, while in ugly reality of it all being an extremely cheap-ass, outright counterfeit IMITATION of a chocolate. In my country, usually when someone uses palm or coconut oil instead of actual dairy to "produce" kind-of-cheese or kind-of-milk-chocolate products, this is considered as an outright fraud and deception, a swindle of any potential buyer, and such pseudo-"chocolate" is usually done only by very small, essentially basement-dwelling handicrafts, who try to cut "expenses" on every corner imaginable and hence why they extremely strongly abuse the usage of palm and coconut oil. Only small, cheap-ass "firms" do this sh*t. And that is EXACTLY what Ferrero is doing also, and that is EXACTLY what Ferrero's pseudo-"chocolate" is. Their so-called "chocolate" is utter GARBAGE, not actual chocolate any. My condolences, but it's truth.

Editing … You keep using the word "condolences". To be fair, I can't eat much chocolate without being sick of it, so pseudo-chocolate does sound better to me.

Editing … I get what you're saying. But I don't like 99% chocolate, and I like Ferrero Rocher. No matter how many facts you throw at my face, my body and tastes won't suddenly be like "Oh! Turns out I hate Ferrero Rocher after all!" because I don't. I like Ferrero Rocher.

Editing … And I don't like to be fooled by anything and anyone. As I've said - I "liked" Ferrero too, in the past. Until I found out the truth. I'm not dumb enough to keep on consuming fraud garbage after finding out that it's a fraud garbage, simply because I learn from my mistakes and I become better, treating my organism with more respect. I was a pretty unhealthy person in the past, nowadays I treat myself and my body with way more respect than ever before, because my health demands so. No more foolery. I want to live healthily and have a healthy enough body, and I want to eat actual, real, non-falsified, and healthy food/cuisine. Quite frankly, I don't eat any "instant" food or fast-food at all, for at least last eight years, only cooking actual home-made dishes from actual ingredients. Devices like multi-cooker are a real piece of technological art, IMHO.
