2D action in perfection. The swan-song for the big-budget 2D action platformer as 3D was making its strides in the gaming world. Besides one of the most fantastic soundtracks in gaming, the game featured some of the best 2D animation and sprites ever seen. Plus, the added exploration and RPG elements such as a variety of weapons, armor, items, spells and other stats made for one of the deepest action games of its day. I can't count the number of times I've played through this game, INCLUDING the inverted castle.
