Yo, help a brother out, will ya?
I'm looking for a list of critically acclaimed non-superhero graphic novels that released in the last five to ten years. Tia

Editing … Hey, I was just reading that article this very moment :) or at least I was trying to, but my phone's internet is slow as hell so the site doesn't really load. And of course the editor decided to split that article into several different pages :( I like how "100 bullets" by Amarillo and risso is in the URL, since that series is one of my favorites :)

Editing … Yeah that list was a pain to look through lol. I've always wanted to get into graphic novels but there's so many and I don't really know where to start. :/

Editing … Dude. Sha, silent gamer and myself talked so much about comics in the last couple of days, you could've just asked us. Anyway, I know for a fact that you like Batman, so the obvious place to start there is by reading either "the killing joke" or "year one". Both van be finished in about half an hour and are considered essential classics. If you're looking for a crime/drama series, then I can recommend you "100 bullets". "Maus" by art spiegelman is a story about the Holocaust,... "sin city" by Frank Miller is also very entertaining. Hm, what else is there? "fun home" is an autobiography about homosexuality, "y the last man" explores what would happen if all men except one suddenly die... And then of course there's "watchmen" by Alan Moore, the anti-superhero comic book that revolutionized the comic book. "sandman" by Neil gaiman is considered a classic, although I haven't read it yet. "DMZ" explores what would happen if a civil war would break out in New York... "Persepolis" is an autobiography about growing up as a girl in Iran... Will Eisner did a bunch of good stuff.you just have to know which genres you're interested in and go from there.

Editing … Wait, I've got just the thing for you. Illegally download "Dans Mes Yeux (In My Eyes)" from Bastien Vives. It's a down-to-earth bitter-sweet story about this French guy who falls in love with this beautiful redhead. The remarkable thing about it is, that it's told via a first-person perspective, and it's very minimalistic with hardly any dialogue. "In my eyes" relies heavily on body language, which Bastien Vives captured perfectly with his drawings, so by the the end of the book you're likely to fall in love with her yourself. I loved the comic back in 2009 when I first read it and hopefully you'll feel the same way. But it all depends on your willingness to dive head first into some glorious French pretentious auteur graphic novel shit.
