fun fact 01: Bioshock and Mass Effect are the only franchises with more than one games each in the top 20 ATF games list.

fun fact 02: Fallout New Vegas climbed 50 places in the ATF games list over the last 12 months, more than any other game.

Editing … You'd say that Pud but you'd be wrong. Mass Effect >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bioshock >>> MGS (and that's if I let ME3 drag the other two down).

Editing … Nah renny... :P MGS1 alone can take on both of those series and still come out as a flawless victor. Even pitting the original MGS against those two series feels unfair for those two, let alone adding the perfection that is MGS3 to the mixture. It would be like throwing a promising young boxer into the ring with #Roy Jones, Jr. in his prime.

Editing … MGS is one of those series I want to like but can't. I've tried MGS2, 3 and 4 and they all just seem like Japan's weaker version of Splinter Cell (and I'm not a huge SC fan). Credit where it's due for some memorable boss fights and the eccentricity's cool sometimes but the controls are clunky and out of date plus the story's convoluted and ridiculously self indulgent. I'm not sure MGS3 would make my top 10 stealth games to be honest, no way do I believe it can outclass Mass Effect when it comes to which games are outright best.

Editing … "MGS seems like Japan's weaker version of Splinter Cell". Once again Richard pale hit the nail on the head, bravo. MGS strength lies in its presentation, music and style, whereas Splinter Cell's gameplay is vastly superior, but it lacks a clear vision and narrative worth giving a damn about.

Editing … I wouldn't call it vastly superior, but rather vastly different. While Splinter Cell focuses more on actually hiding, MGS focuses on mind games. Not to mention that MGS' AI is among the best in the medium. I love the gameplay of both of these series (although I think Splinter Cell got progressively worse as it focused more on killing).
