Bravely Default is a very enjoyable experience, for anyone who loves classic JRPG's. The gameplay itself is pretty solid and fun, with an interesting mechanic that gives it it's own level of strategy. The soundtrack is also pretty good, with some noticeable songs. Overall it does a very good job of capturing that classic feel...but that's not always a good thing.

The game lacks identity, you could've called this Final Fantasy and no one would notice. The game also has a serious pacing problem, the second half of the game envolves you repeating the same things over and over with no worthwhile difference. It also suffers from balance issues, some bosses are godawfully designed. There were times when all my characters were in Default and full HP, and a boss would just pull a move out of his ass and OHKO my whole party!

The game has serious design issues, but overall it's really enjoyable. I just hope the sequel has a bit more identity, and irons out these design flaws.
