"Hotline Miami" is a remarkable tactical / twitch game hybrid where you kill russian mobsters with various melee weapons and guns in a most gory fashion. The gameplay is excessively violent. However, the surreal plot and pixelated graphics manage to take the edge off it - in a sense. The fast-paced action will test your reflexes and your adaptability, although trial and error is certainly a key element! The late 80s neon asthetics and extraordinary soundtrack lend a unique quality to this game, which only suffers slightly from its shortness and lack of variety.
