The American soundtrack to Crazy Taxi literally turned this arcade racer into something extraordinary. Sure, it was repetitious, reckless fun. Players could crash their indestructible taxi through obstacles, to drive their customers to their destinations. However, the killer punk rock soundtrack gave the American version an eclectic Californian edge that no other racing game had. In fact, this is one of Sega's greatest localization efforts. The driving mechanics are still flawed, but the game is as eclectic as it was when it came out in 1997.
